Ancient Suns : The hunt for truth

Cosmology informs us that the creation started in an ancient fireball ~13.8 billion years ago. Amazed!? Well, you should be!

You can't get any older than that. Some stars come close. The first generation of stars was formed within 100 and 250 million years after the Big Bang from hydrogen and helium.

The two most sufficient components produced in the developmental universe. The coalition of these atomic incompetents within their cores made heavier carbon, oxygen, and nitrogen elements. These particles were expelled into scope when the stars exploded as supernovae.

It mixed with healthy amounts of primordial hydrogen and helium; these new elements wound up in the next generation of stars. Older souls never run out of tales.

After all, they've seen a few things. More classical stars likewise have stories to tell.

During the Milky Way's juvenility, they stood by when it promptly gobbled up smaller galaxies until finally appearing as one of the universal kingpins. The primary planetoids formed under their watch. And while galactic supernovae are rare and far between today, they pop like flashbulbs at an interview from the long perspective of these ancient suns.

Their remains molded and reignited into new contemporaries of stars. What do you think defines the idea of old? Unquestionably the Sun is ancient!

The Sun emerged from the solar nebula 4.6 billion ages ago. A good lifetime by most standards. But it doesn't match to stars in globular clusters that have held their tails lit for some 12.8 billion years.

Crazy huh!

While not the prime generation of stars to form in the universe, globular suns are so antiquated that they headed the creation of the Milky Way galaxy as we know it. They were the first clots of stars to form in the huge cloud that would ultimately collapse to form the galaxy's bulge and eventually its radial disk. The globular viewed from the outside — our galaxy's halo — where most of them remain to this day.
